Here we go AGAIN… Wally has an eye ulcer!!!

We just got home… Wally has a very SMALL ulcer in the center of his left eye. She gave me some eye ointment to take care of it, and she actually said that it hadn't reached the cornea so it wasn't too deep. Unfortunately she discussed w/several specialists concerning his distichiasis, and he will have to have surgery to remove the eyelashes. YES she could just pull them, but they would just grow back :( Since Ray is leaving again for Seattle soon, we are postponing any surgeries until he comes home. The vet agrees w/us on the wait, and this eye ulcer does not seem to be connected to the eyelash issue. She has a great track record w/her babies, and she told me that she routinely uses propofol as anesthesia. As most of you know my luck in the surgery department is pretty bad w/my bulldogs. I also brought home Roxie's ashes today… :*( All in all it's been a pretty shitty day…

 my heart just hurts for you --- you just can't go a day without some type of bad news I so hope he does not have to have the surgery, I know he does, but I can hope can't I :(

Happy Roxie is back home with you

I'm absolutely floored… but as I told Ray it's unrealistic to expect that your dog NEVER has to have surgery. I honestly don't know what to say or do at this point… :fie:

I just saw this! Poor Wally, much love & hugs, and especially prayers to you! I know he will be just fine! Crossing paws for no surgery!
