2nd time my dog has done this within the past 2 months. His head shakes vigously, kind of like if a person has Parkinsons. He usually stops after I give him water out of my hand or a treat...Is this anything to worry about?

IF it is just tremors, he is fine, Vegas has done this twice just have to divert their attention. The article 2BullyMama wrote is a wonderful article and very informative.

Yah, that sounds pretty typical, especially during growth spurts (but seems like no one knows for sure what causes it). I use a spoonful of vinalla frozen yogurt because im nervous she might choke on hard treats, and it snaps her out of it, or in a pinch I rub the inside of her ears. Happens less and less now that she's 5--maybe 2-3 times a year.

My baby girl Bella has started with the head shaking about two weeks ago and I got on the internet and did a search and that's how I found this site. so I started reading everything I could on here about it and the peanut butter trick works great with her. she seems to be getting the head shakes more often now seems like almost every day. She has only missed a couple of days in two weeks time. But when we talk to her she looks at us. she is normally sleeping when it happens and it wakes her up. Poor baby. I just feel so bad for her. :crying:
