I’m thinking about adding a French Bulldog . I already have two English bulldogs one female which is 5. And the other is a male Bulldog 2 years old . Do you think they will get along . ? Do you think I should get a male or female French Bulldog. Just want to hear everyone’s opinion

I would get a male. Sometimes 2 females in a house can cause issues.

I have a 6 year old Frenchie, Jax. My bulldog Louie is 2. The two breeds are fairly similar. The only thing I will say about frenchies are they are more prone to spine/disc issues. My guy has IVDD and has had 3 very expensive surgeries. They can also have allergies, like bulldogs.

I have 2 males, both neutered. They get along for the most part except when Louie is bugging Jax. If I added a third, I would probably do a female. How do your two get along now? Since you already have a female, you might want to add another male.

I also have a bulldog and. Frenchie... two males. They get along great are a good balance of energy and are very similar in health issues. The exception is as Citty mentioned , the spine issues(fused vertebrae/IVDD)

If you add a third I would get a male.

(IF Genetic) All French bulldogs are prone to the problem because the breed has a screw-tail. That a dog has no hemivertebrae can only be confirmed by taking x-rays of the spine.

This might help you understand....

It is common because of the way they are built. It doesn't mean every Frenchie will have an issue but there is always a chance.

It's not just French bulldogs with screw tails- also English bulldogs, pugs and Boston terriers.

All of this has me thinking now. My two I have now never had any issues with them. One is 5 the other one is 2.. Just regular shots. Neuter and spayed only surgeries.

I think French Bulldogs are more prone to it than English Bulldogs. Dachshunds are as well.

I made up my mind I’m going to get the male French Bulldog. Pick him up by the end of August
