So we had a little celebration last night because the Kansas Jayhawks made it to the championship game for Monday night. Well we blew up some fireworks and My girl Tess didn't like that to well So now I'm not looking forward to the July 4th cause my husband and boys favorite holiday. Any solution to help her the holiday?

Ear plugs ?

if you don't want to buy a Thundershirt, some say that putting a tight tee shirt on them works. The concept of a thundershirt is to "hug" them and make them feel secure. There are also calming tablets, not sure if they work, I have never used them.

I have no advice...Brutus first 4th of july is this year! We will see what happens

We always let our dogs hang out in the basement on the 4th rather than upstairs...they can't hear the fireworks as well from down there.

I have some neighbors who genuinely try to out do each other with firework displays. Or at least it sounds like that.

On July 4th, everybody - dogs, cats - sleeps in "the big bed" with me. Windows are closed. TV is turned UP. It seems to help. My bed is high - I use a step to get into it - so they can't jump down either. When they're up there, they're stuck with me. The parrot doesn't seem to be concerned with fireworks so she stays in her cage with the cover on.
