I would go down to 2x a day at about 6 months! I started Brutus on all stages at 8 1/12 months and wish I would have done it sooner if I had known! I got a lot of info about feeding and best food from this site! IM sure others will be along with other advice...you can start all stages now if you want when you start 2 x a day. What are you currently feeding?

I would go to 3 feedings now..then 2 feedings at 6 months. Remember to slowly increase and decrease..in my experience..Jake would get soft when increasing the amount. At 6 months, he went from 3 feedings of 1/2 cup each...to 2 feedings of 1 cup each.

Emma has been eating twice a days since 8 weeks and a couple of days. We both work during the day and I'm not of fan of free feeding because I had a dog the keeled over and was choking to death. We were able to dislodge the KIBBLE and he lived, thank god. Emma is now 15 weeks today and Wilson turned a year in January. He too was put on a twice a day schedule at 8 weeks. They've been just fine with that feeding schedule. So I say change to twice a day now. Emma will also be transitioning to adult food this week.

Disclaimer: Thats just my opinion and others will vary.

I am with [MENTION=2092]JAKEISGREAT[/MENTION] go down to 3 times a day now and at 6 months you can go down to 2 times.

Vegas was around 7 months when I went down to two feedings a day, plus some healthy snacks of either fruit or veggies.

You're welcome. I do agree with [MENTION=2092]JAKEISGREAT[/MENTION] and @Davidh , if you can do three times a day that's great! I just couldn't cause of being gone during the day and my guys were just fine. If you do go from 4 to 2 feedings instead of three be sure not to do it all at once as that's a big jump for their tummies.

My baby is 8 weeks old and we feed 3 times daily. He seems very satisfied and currently, we are not having any issues!

16 weeks is old enough to feed twice daily for most pups. In your case since you are doing 4x a day I would decrease it to 3 for at least 3 weeks for the pups tummy to adjust to the schedule, then you can move to two times a day when you and he are ready.

I feed them 3x a day from 7 weeks to 16 weeks, then decrease to two times a day. Smaller meals several times a day cause less tummy troubles, so just keep an eye out on the poop consistency. This is why many will wait as long as possible and keep them on a 3x a week schedule.
