Dark colored urine!!

Sugar just went through her first heat cycle.

Got all the bleeding, swelling of the vulva, etc! I think it all went well.

I have noticed that Sugar takes a little longer to pee now. I have also noticed her pee is very dark colored, she had an accident in the house, and it was almost a brown color.

She still seems very playful, happy, etc. Anyone have any ideas?

I have also noticed her nipples are now puffier, and the closest 2 nipples near her vulva has small little lumps behind it...

Just want some ideas before I take her to the vet guys!

No help here since I havent actually dealt with heat in my pups but I would want to make sure it isnt a uti maybe? Is she peeing more frequently? Hopefully it is something to do with being a girl not a uti. You will get better help from the others.

The dark urine can mean that either she needs more fluids, or that she has an infection. I would get it tested to be safe.

The swelling of the nipples is completely normal after a heat cycle. Many would sometimes even think their dog is pregnant, become some females can have a very noticeable breat enlargement. Rest assured, it is the horomones causing havock, and they will go back to normal. Provided you did not let her near a male dog during her heat.... that is!
