Castration

Just looking for your options on what age my Dave should be castrated

The longer you wait, the better for growth reasons. I would not neuter before 1 year of age unless there was a medical reason to do so.

My vet said it was good that Pork wasn't neutered until he was 18 mos. Not intentional as he was a rescue. The hormones are needed for their bone growth and calcification. But before one year is not recommended.

1 year would be the earliest I would recommend, but if you can wait until he is 18 months thats best cause it can really effect their growth if you do it too early.

I'm glad I asked thanks everyone. Vet was wanting to do it in 3 weeks at 6 months old

Agree with the gang -- no sooner than a year... the longer you can wait the better
