Hello,
I am a new member looking for allergy advice, thank you.
The Vet has recommended Apoquel.
Bulldog, large male 5 Year old he appears to have diarrhoea immediately after starting on these tablets 16 mg for his large size.

Has anyone had similar problems with their dog on these tablets ?
Is Piriton a temporary stop gap ?
Is there anything more Pet / Tummy friendly for allergy - itching paws, licking paws too frequent, thank you.
He is very runny with 5 / 6 toilet visits each day which is not acceptable, we keep him well hydrated and his appetite is still good yet we have stopped these tablets
as they are not at all meeting his needs. Thank you, much appreciated.

Have you tried any more natural remedies? There are several you might try. Cow colostrum(powdered) is one. I had success with
that for my dog years ago.!/8 tsp per 25 lbs. twice a day.
Zyrtec or benedryl. dose for benedryl is 1 per 25. Another try is green lipped muscles or Quercitin supplement, 400mg
for 50 lb. . You could give him canned pumpkin for his loose stools. Soak his feet in boric acid or diluted iodine and if you can,dry them and apply NuStock, wrap them in socks and duct tape to hold socks.

@Walt Apoquel has many side effects and yes diarrhea is one…..
I agree with @Manydogs and the natural remedies she mentioned. Much healthier for pets.

“Common side effects of Apoquel in dogs include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and decreased appetite. It may also lead to more serious issues like infections or immune suppression, so it's important to monitor your dog closely while on this medication.”

Hi, what food is he eating? What treats?
We had a similar thing with our first bully he had a lot of allergies and a lot was down to food.
Our other boys have been fed on raw from being puppies and have had no where near as many allergy problems, that also includes all there treats (not raw but totally natural)
