Bright Red Blood with Poop

Georgie Girl had diarrhea for a few days. I fed her boiled chicken with scrambled egg, some sweet potato and it cleared up. Her poop has been normal for 2 days now. Tonight her poop pile had bright red blood on top. She will be 11 yrs old Jan 2nd. Just checking if anyone else has experienced this before I take her to the Vet.

Yes...Duke had bright red blood on n off when I got him...it’s stress. In his case, new home, new big sister n all...stayed for many months then stopped. Vet said the same...something New/Changed in her surroundings? If it’s dark red it’s a concern but not bright red...

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry... I would take a sample to the vets. The only time I have dealt w/this is when our Winston had giardia... it was coming from both ends.

I would take sample to vet as well. And as she’s getting to be older, if tests are negative and it continues, I would probably follow up with vet visit.

And yes like mentioned above I also had Duke checked at the vet.

I'll get poo results Friday. Meanwhile she's on Proviable to help digestion and Metronidazole as antibiotic.

Why did they give meds and not know the results yet? Did they give a reason? Just curious.

They have to send the poop out for analysis and will get results back Friday.
