And the award for the biggest slow poke goes to.....

It's the name. When I was pregnant everyone told me "Don't name your son Michael, he will be a little devil". Well, he is the love of my life, but he is a little devil. I think it is the same with the name Brutus. Frankie is the most chill dog ever and Brutus, well he isn't. I swear he was dropped on his head when he was born. He is high maintenence to the hilt. Bossy, Crazy, etc...I couldn't love him more!!! @Texas Carol had a Brutus as well. We will have to get her opinion on the name.

Awww, Rosalie (you touch my heart).

My BruBru had at least 3 homes before me, the nurse I adopted
him from had got him off Craigslist. He didn't know how to play
with people or play with toys, was used to being crated long hrs
so wasn't housebroke and his face was so infected it stank :(
Amazingly, he had tons of love, waiting to just be able to GIVE IT.
He was mischievious & funny but had great manners and was gentle
& loving to my cat, CoCo. We had such a great 7 months together
before I lost him in dental surgery. I buried him here at my house,
he rests on a hill beneath a tree and now, so does CoCo beside him.
Both reside in my deepest heart, both exceptional & wonderful souls.
That is them in my sig line, beautiful, beautiful babies...RIP w/GOD.

Sorry...meant to say, WHO knows how many homes & names he
had before he got to me but that nurse called him Brutus. He did
have his rowdy moments and every night would flip over and flip
out...rolling around on his back and thrashing his head from side
to side. We called it, his 'Great White Shark' dance. If you sat beside
him he'd nip your thigh~OWIE! We learned to just 'move away from
the nutso bully', lol He & I immediately bonded at first sight and when
Mother & I drove 6 hrs to get him (sight unseen) he left by my side and
got in the truck between us and never a sound the 6 hrs back...he knew
he was HOME at last. I couldn't bear to crate him and he was so good
that I never did, he slept with me & Hubby, who died just 2 months later.
Bru was so gentle with Mother who thought he was her pug and scolded
him for being fat & pregnant and would drag him over beside her chair
and make him stay there. Bru would look at over at us like, WTF?

Ruthie is adorable… hey it was a LONG winter, she's just stiff… getting her spring legs a going!!! LOL

The good part of the name Brutus is that it is usually accompanied by the best most loving bulldog you would ever want. I love that little sausage more than I could ever describe. I'm sure JennieS will feel the same way soon if she doesn't already. I'm sorry you only had your bru bear for a short time but I'm glad he felt 10yrs of love in that 7mos!!!

I couldn't agree more. Even with his wildness, he just wants love and to give love. He needs to be close at all times. He's such a baby. I love him dearly!!!

You nailed it, Rosalie! We packed so much life & love into that 7 months it's
crazy and I don't regret it. Guess it was meant to be that way and I think GOD
knew I'd need him so very much after Stuart died so suddenly that I didn't know
what to do with myself. And I'm so glad I was able to love that dog with all my
heart and give him the life he had deserved from the minute he was born.

We were so very happy with ourselves and that is worth it all.
