The new arrival to the Dean family......Colton Jae.

Beautiful! Congrats Libra926 - he's just gorgeous. A little miracle.

I might have to move closer desertskybulldogs ... I'm so afraid to have a baby because I don't know what to do with one and my mom is 3,000 miles away, you sound like an expert!

Well...Colton had a rough night and a tough day. His heart rate is over 100 and should be around 60. I was supposed to head to the hospital after work, but my brother said that they needed to give mom and baby quiet time...lights off and quiet. If his heart rate doesn't slow down...they will have to have a specialist come from another hospital to check him out. So, prayers for little Colton.

Oh no, what does that mean??? I would be freaking out.... I am very sorry. This is not the news your family needs right now. I am going to do an extra long super duper prayer tonight for your family. So sorry.... :(

The last call I got from my daughter in law was that they may have to transport him to St. Joe's In Tacoma....Waiting to hear. Prayers to my grandson.

My brother just called and they had to transport the baby to St. Joseph Hospital about an hour away. They did this because they are better equiped to deal with any potential problems...they have a NICU. Right now mom isn't due to be released until Saturday morning. She is trying to get released tonight so she can be with her son. My brother explained it like this...."because he was born c-section, he didn't have the "contractions" to help push fluids out of his body." Apparently his breath are short and fast...potential pnuemonia. So, we will keep you posted on how this little guy is doing.

At least he is in the best place for them to help him! Prayers to all your family ... keep us informed!

Oh my goodness I am so sorry to read all of this. (hug) He is in good hands and I am sure being there is precautionary and hopefully he will get to normal soon enough. Poor mama tho being away from him must be sooo hard on her. Please keep us all updated and know you are in my thoughts.

I talked to my son and his wife both today .... Colton is doing very well today, nursing and out of the incubator, breathing so much better, Mom was released today to go be with him. I was on my way out the door to go see him when I found out that a test that I had done yesterday prevents me from being near him for two more days....

Thank you for the update, I sure hope you get to see him soon! I am so glad he is doing better- tell mom to take it easy, c sections are very painful. She needs to take care of herself as well. It is hard to remember that. I went through a similar thing where Sedona did not squeeze out all of her fluids during c section, but thankfully we were able to take care of it there and she did not require special care afterwards.

Posted on facebook from Colton's mommy...."We have had an extremely emotional 48 hours of pure joy and excitement which crashed quickly into panic and fear.Colton is continuing to fight hard, he is starting to be weaned off his IV now and is doing fantastic. He still has a fight ahead for the next day or so, but I believe he's decided that he's had enough of the poking and prodding and is going to show us he's ready to come home!"
My brother text me last night saying that Colton is "eating like a champ". So..here is a  for great news!

So...my brother just called me and Colton will be coming home tomorrow....Sunday. Happy birthday Grandma! Jeff (my brother) was excited when he told me "he is free of all his IVs". Great news.
