Jeffo
Hi everyone, I joined because of the last thread I posted on, thought I maybe able to help. Over the years I've had some great dogs, mainly bull breeds but not all. at the moment Jeffo lives with myself and my wife. British bulldog who we rescued just over 5yrs ago, (how time flies) he was 18mths old then, and he had all ready had 5 homes. So I new what I was taking on or thought I did:no: Great for the first couple of weeks, and then it all went pear shaped. Growling going for my wife, when I wasn't around, and then he made the biggest mistake of his young life, he bit me and drew blood, he nearly went back to rescue, but I new I couldn't give up on him like every one else had. So we decided to take him right back to basics, and I mean basics, it took just over 4mths to sort him out, and I remember every single day, of that 4ths. So fast forward, Jeffo is a well balanced happy dog, and has been a member of the family since. (how lucky he is, we never gave up) because I don't really know what would have happened to him. One last thing to say, I'm glad we never gave up on him.:)

Welcome to EBN! Thank you for saving Jeffo… dogs need the structure some more than others, seems you were what he needed

This is Jeffo, I think he was about 3yrs in this photo:)

I must admit, he was a hand full. When we picked him up from rescue he was well under weight, I must admit he did look a funny little thing with a big head and tiny body. We put him on raw diet straight away, he is now 22.5kg or just under 50lb and fit.

Raw diets is what all dogs needs. Or at least use raw toppers on kibbles I’d it’s the way an owner wants.

He does look great!

I am glad too- thank you for staying in the fight. Gunny was a rescue and if the wife and I didn’t rescue him, he would have been euthanized. He was a couple of weeks from seeing his maker.

Thanks! I assume you got Gunny from a Dog Pound? Jeffo was in a rehoming centre, so he had all the time in the world for the right home, although they did get it wrong a couple of times, but I wont hold that against them, most of them do a great job. Its strange when you go to a Rehome/Pound centre, all the dogs seem to have the same look of confusion why me in their eyes, heart breaking when I see them.

Gunny originally came to us through a Craigslist rehoming post. He was a rescue, and when we first brought him home more than two years ago, it was clear he had lived a hard life. We were his third family — and we made sure we’d be his last.

In the beginning, Gunny faced a lot of challenges. He was reactive toward other dogs and cats, he had a cherry eye, he was still intact, and he had an infected right ear. We got him the veterinary care he needed, handled the surgeries, and made sure he finally received consistent love, structure, and stability.

Now, after two years with us, Gunny is a completely different dog. He has medical insurance, a safe home, open space, warm baths, the best food, daily walks, and a family that absolutely adores him. He may still be stubborn and full of personality, but he’s ours — and we wouldn’t trade him for anything.

And yes… the snoring never stopped. I still joke about putting my CPAP machine on him (lol).

Welcome! He is so handsome!! He is so lucky to have found you. We have been members for the last 8 1/2 years although we haven't been posting a whole bunch over the last year I still love to pop in and see all of these beautiful mushfaces every so often.

Thank you for the warm welcome. you guys seem a real friendly bunch on the Forum, and that's just the Bulldogs:LOL:
