In the past vets have always advised me against raw feeding due to health risks. Nowadays there are a lot of raw food shops so dependant on finding a good reputable one it’s something I’m considering.
I’m going to speak with the vet first but would like to hear from anyone whose dog is like Freya. Vets often seem to be against raw feeding too. Actual experience would be helpful.
She has a very sensitive stomach, has anyone raw feed a dog like her? Also I like her to have a variety of foods, such as veg, fruit, egg, fish a little brown rice occasionally to help firm her stools! I take these into account when feeding her kibble, they aren’t extras.

Take a look at Middleton Raw Dog Food. Jeffo was put on it straight from the rescue, no problems. I've used them for over 4yrs, with no problems also next day delivery.(y) It may also help Freya's sensitive stomach. Many people make a mistake of not checking the temp in the fridge, especially if it is a larder fridge, although the temps are written on the food. Chicken 0-4 degrees, a must with chicken.

Thanks Lennie. A couple of dog owners have said to me raw feeding would make her sensitivities worse. My belief is raw food is their natural diet and would naturally be the opposite. Instead of all the added god knows what!
I’ll take a look at Middletons, is that in Middleton Leeds by any chance?
There is a shop with good reviews a few minutes walk from me so I’m going to check it out too.
Quick question, along with raw feeding is it ok to have her, eggs, veggies etc too or should it be raw only?

Middleton, Manchester. They do supply shops Nationwide. Jeffo has three eggs a week cooked, just remember eggs are protein. If you feed root veg make sure it is shredded or grated, because they are harder to digest, Jeffo loves his greens. Take your time do your homework/research, and check the temp in the fridge.(y)

I cook her root veggies, egg she has once a week the same with fish and fruits as they have a lot of sugar. One of the concerns I do have with raw feeding is the veg is frozen and as you say root vegetables are hard to digest. I do give her other frozen veggies though.

I’m in US and have feed raw for over 16 years. It’s a blend of protein, veggies, fruits and oats. I’ve helped another family that can’t afford to buy for their frenchie with severe skin issues and epilepsy. After two months on the raw her skin issues are 100% gone ! Nothing else was changed except the food. Another person I helped was a GSD with constant ear infections, again once so raw the infection was gone.

I go to a vet practice that has a mix of associates that support or are totally against raw feeding. If I end up with a non supportive vet and they say anything, I politely say it isn’t up for debate or discussion. It’s only happened once.

Its good to hear people helping other's that may have hit hard times(y) I think the older generation of Vets, are more palatable with Raw, than the newer younger generation. Don't forget if you never went to the Vets, they would not be able to pay their mortgage. I started feeding Raw in 1963, I was 13 and had a evening and Saturday job in a Butchers, and we had a GS then. From what I remember Kibble arrived in the Uk in the early 70s, and I still don't understand why people feed their dogs the stuff. A family buys a pup/dog for £2500-3000 takes it home to a nice new bed, big box of toys, and then feeds it kibble, and that is the cause of most of the problems in the coming months and years. So the Vets mortgage gets paid.
