Pecan pies

This time of year my mother and I make many pies and today we made 18 pecan pies to give to people in our family and people who do work for my mother who she kind of adopts lol, she is so sweet. But yeah normally we make more than this but we ran out of pecans so some of the people who always look forward to coming over and picking up their pecan pie hopefully will understand. Love me some good old mothers pecan pies. My mother has done this since I was a little girl and is very well known in our town for her pies.
It took a small assembly line lol to do this but we did it in 3hrs using my sisters stove as well who lives next door to my mother. They turned out all golden brown and they were deep dish pies.

Good on you and your Mom! My Mother too, was known for her pies and
pecan pie remains my favorite as well as coconut meringue...Ummmm!

Thanks for bringing to mind, good food and great memories.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Mmmmmmmm!

And yes we would love the recipe if she will share it!

I will ask my Mother if it would be ok to post her recipe. When my brother use to live out of state she would send him pecan pies :sillyboy:
My parents are southern and my mother calls then southern pecan pies

Wayyyy back when I was knee high to a grasshopper...we were often at my Grandma Elsie's in Arkansas. My sisters and I used rakes to beat the hell out of the pecan trees until all the pecans worth getting were gotten! Bags and bags full!! Then my grandma would spend days making Pecan Pies! They smelled great..but I hated then...and still do hate... Pecan Pies. But I love the memories of all those years ago.

My mother and grandmother are both from Arkansas "little rock" but unlike you I LOVE ME SOME PECAN PIES :droolers::judges::mommy::cooking::girlyes:

Mother and Dad (deceased in 2000) born & raised in Paragould, AR
on the line between MO & AR

I can't think of ANY flavor pie I dislike, lol

My Mother, her 7 sister's and her Mother were all fabulous cooks
and could bake too. OMG...the memories of so many delicious meals
and family gatherings around Grandma's table, they raised 10 kids and
all would bring their families to Grandma's house for holidays because
they were so much fun and lived the creed, the MORE the MERRIER and
it sure was!

Great thread...thank you and "Happy Thanksgiving"
:thanks5:
