Welcome to EBN. Charlie is Beautiful, Kisses and More Kisses to Sweet Charlie.

New to your community, English Bulldog owner... My Tubby is a rescue! His teeth are all over the place; zig-zagging around the top of his mouth, etc... I heard NOT to give Bulldogs rawhide because they will chew until they bleed. Well, my bulldog has stolen other dogs rawhide, and YES; he bleeds immediately. So, my predicament is I need to know what is SAFE for him to chew without bleeding.
He eats a grain-free diet, and has a sensitive tummy.

meeerylou You did not say how old your bulldog is. First of all, rawhide is not really good for anydog-but especially bulldogs because they are a choking hazard. They can get caught in your dogs throat, and cause death. 2. If your dog is a pup, around 4/5 months old they start to lose their puppy teeth, and their gums may bleed some.
3. If your dog is grown, and gums bleed, there may be tarter on teeth and under gums, which means they need cleaning. The best things for them to chew are Durabones, which are made by Nylabone-big size,so they can not be swallowed, or heavy duty Kong toys. Hope this helps you.
