New Bulldog parents! :)

Hi everyone! We just added our first Bulldog to the family. She's a little fawn sweetheart we named Abbey. We have a clock on the mantle that plays the Westminster chimes of Big Ben, and she kept looking for the chimes every time they went off so we thought it was an appropriate name. She has a cleft lip, that the breeder had fixed (and then spayed her) but I think it gives her little face character.

I've always had a Boxer but I am definitely a newbie with Bulldogs! I had no idea they snorted so much and made such crazy noises all the time! :D I've got lots to learn!

Welcome new bully pawrent! Snort snort snort! lol. Abbey's a cutie and how she got that name is quite the story. Cleft lip, schmelt lip, she's a real beauty no matter what. Does she do the bully dance too? And push her hiney towards you asking for a butt rub? Just a couple of the many silly antics bullies do!

Not sure what the 'bully dance' is yet, unless its like Boxer kidney beaning where they bend their little body in half and try to walk.

She doesn't do the hiney thing but she will give me a little bark to let me know that she is not getting sufficient attention. :D Do they always sleep with their tongue out? I don't think she's had hers in her mouth all night! lol!

Our HRH sleeps with just the tip of her tongue out a lot. It gets all dry and leathery. We call it her potato chip tongue.

hello there and yes the bully snort and chainsaw snoring is adorable to me but not so much to others. welcome to the bullyworld

Owning a bully is definitely different than any of the other dogs I have had... in some ways he's low maintenance (compared to my Chow Chow and Pekingese), but in other ways he's higher maintenance (compared to my Chow Chow and Peke) LOL

Your baby is a cutie pie and definitely has lots of character.
