Need “Breathing” Advice

Glad he’s back on track! Just change that food and he’ll be good as new ❤️
I feed him Acana No Grain Limited Ingredient Beef,, 1/3 cup twice a day. Now that he can breathe again I’ll be able to excercise him a lot more.
Surgery Center tried to push Hill’s Metabolic food on me,, I said
“ABSOLUTELY NOT!,, I want my boy to be healthy and happy not sick” they didn’t know what to say 😆

Is that a typo? 1/3 cup 2x per day is not a lot. I know you need to bring down the weight but go gradually. Acana is very high in protein which is what he needs but definitely up it to at least 1cup per day. Exercise him slowly cause he’s over weight and you don’t want to damage to joints. Small little walks and bring it up slowly.

If possible make some of this turmeric paste and add some to his meals once a day. Start with a teaspoon. This will relieve his joints and muscles when starting exercises.

So happy the procedure went well!!!

Has been 4 days since Levi’s BOAS and Nares surgery,, he is doing and recovering GREAT ! UNBELIEVABLE how much his breathing has improved and will still get better day by day as throat swelling goes down ,,there has been 0 complications after surgery even though it was more extensive than originally thought,,,,he is already a diffrent dog,, wish I would have done this procedure several months ago. If you go on Facebook and search LexVet Mobile Pet Surgery you can see him before surgery and a summary from Surgeon.

Great news!

Excellent news!!

Kyredneck,
Omg, I am so relieved to read your baby is okay. I had Gunny's airway open as well when I received him as a rescue. He is overweight and I must do something about that. I am trying to walk him 15 to 20 mins a day. The wife does a better job at doing that than I do (lol).
