I didn't notice it at all yesterday, but it's definitely there this morning. I looked at some google images & I'm certain that's what it is.

It doesn't look red, but definitely is popped. :(

I read that sometimes these can be caused by allergies and an antihistamine can help. Should I give her some benadryl to try?

I also read that if it happens in one eye that it will most likely happen in both.

Yes you can give a Benadryl. Also some have had success with massaging around the eye to pop it back in. There is a thread here somewhere that had a link to a you tube video showing how to do it.

HRH hasn't had this so I'm only relating what I've read, not personal experience.

I thought Lucy had cherry eye when she was a pup--turned out to be "third eye lid irritation". I was convinced it was cherry eye because it looked like all of the pictures I googled--so I was pleasantly surprised when the opthamologist told me I was wrong!! Lucy has a condition called dry eye so we use a lot of drops around here!

Until you get a proper vet diagnosis--go to the pharmacy and buy a lubricating eye drop. I use the BLINK brand because our specialist recommended it.(blue bottle) Either way, keeping they eye lubricated is not a bad thing.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the info! I'm planning to call the vet first thing in the morning to see what they have to say.

In the mean time, I will look for the drops

Wrigley got a cherry eye on his left eye at about 4 months and then 5 months later the right eye popped. Dr said the same thing about it hapenning in both eyes and sure enough it did. Both times he was operated on. The procedure that was performed included a slight incision by gland to create a pocket and the cherry was placed in there abd the incision was stitched back up. He is 16 months and havent had one issue.

daphne 483.jpg Daphne had cherry in just the one eye, it came out at about 4 months old, we took her to the vet and she confirmed. So when we had her spayed we the vet do the surgery on the cherry eye to tack it down, she is almost 10 months old and have not had a problem with the eye since!! The surgery was $350....good luck!! We tried the drops and massaging it but it would not go back in

The massage technique is good. Lucy's popped a couple of times when she was a pup we used this method using warm damp cotton wool balls and after a couple massages it went back. Touch wood it hasnt bothered her since and fingers crossed it won't.

The massage method worked for Stig the first couple of months too and it would stay for a long period of time.

I just read your other "update" post and I agree with Lucymum to just wait to see what the vet says.. Duke did not have cherry eye but had a condition called entropian..they will know what to do.. I know it hard when they are so young but she will be fine.. and she is just so cute!!

Have her checked by the vet. Mocha had Cherry eye inher left eye. At first it would pop out at nite and in the morning it would go away so I didnt know what to think. For me massaging the area didnt work and she had surgery. This was when she was 4 months old, and she has not had any eye issues since.:)

Oy! Hope you decide to take her to the vet to have it checked. Keep us posted!

Thanks again for all of the support! It's nice to have people around who care about their pups as much as we do!

I'm going to call the vet first thing in the AM to see if we can get in tomorrow. I'm anxious to see what they say.
