Dez is my first EB. He's a little over a year old now and right at 40 lbs. (which the vet says is healthy) Since he's my first EB, I'm not really sure how big (or small) he really should be at this age. I love my little Dezzy to pieces :luv: just the way he is! ...But I am curious if he still has some growing to do or does he look about right for his age. He still looks like a baby to me, lol :) Any thoughts?

They say they grow up the first year and then out years two to three! Our Castor is 15 months old and weighs 19 kilos or so which is about 40 lbs. He is not a big bulldog but has started to fill out during these last few months.

Looks fine to me. My Harlea is 14 months and only weighs 37lbs. As said above they tend to grow up the first yeah and out the next two so you still have a ways to go.

He's fine. My girl is 2 and she weighs 60lbs and is fat!

Thanks for the comments y'all, and they were quick too! I think I'm gonna like this forum :cool2: And I think my Dezzy is pretty perfect...but it doesn't hurt to hear what other EB parents think, right? lol :)

He looks fantastic to me… and everyone is right on, it takes about 3 years for them to fill out. He's got time to keep growing ;)

Hi, I agree with everyone, Dezzy looks fine to me. The first year they grow in weight and height, and second to third year they fill out. Every bully is different in weight and heights. The rule of thumb is that when you look at your bully from above, you should see a nicely defined waist and you should be able to feel their ribs, but not see them. I have two EB's they are 29 months old, and they both weigh 45 lbs. they look fine to me, but my vet says she would like them to be 40 lbs., which they usually weigh in the summer when they are more active. They weigh 45 lbs. in the winter when they don't walk as much. How much do you feed your bully? We feed our guys 1 cup of kibble twice a day, 1 cup in the morning, and 1 cup in the evening.

This is a picture of my guys Bulldozer and Blossom

They are siblings and litter mates, but they are built very different, Dozer is more lean looking, although they both weigh the same, but a lot of people think he's mixed with a Boxer, Blossom is stockier than her brother, and she is more barrel shaped like a bully, and her chest is bigger than Dozers'.
