Hello everyone.

With colder weather coming, I’m wondering how other English Bulldog owners handle heating at home. We use radiators to keep the house warm, but I’m not sure what temperature is comfortable for a Bulldog, especially at night or when we’re away for a few hours.

My Bulldog sometimes sleeps close to the radiator, while other times he moves to a cooler spot, so I assume he chooses what feels comfortable. Is there a recommended indoor temperature for Bulldogs during cold weather?

Do you keep the radiators running all day, turn them down at night, or use another type of heating?

I’d appreciate hearing what temperatures work well for your Bulldogs.

thanks in advance for any help

Not to sure what sort of temp, when you say colder weather, being in the UK, In my opinion if the temp is okay for you, it will be fine for Nina. I think you have answered the question, by what she does when she is cold, and when she gets warm moves away from the radiator. Jeffo does exactly the same. As for the day time with heating, we very rarely have it on in the day, but we are in the UK, and I know certain parts of the US, gets a great deal colder, than we experience here. Hope this helps!

We are in northeastern US and keep house around 67-68 during winter

If your home is heated to a point where you’re comfortable then your dog should be comfortable too. Moving away from the radiator is more or less what we’d do, the room’s comfortably warm but the radiators a little too much.
Just as bully’s can’t control their body temperature in the heat they can’t in the cold either.
It sounds like your dog is perfectly comfortable and you’ll soon figure out if he’s not. ..he’s a bully he’ll soon let you know šŸ˜‚

I don’t know Fahrenheit but in Celsius ( I think that’s the right way round,) I usually have mine around 22-23 degrees.
