Ok so this morning we were doing our weekly grooming routine... I save the teeth brushing for LAST because it seems to be the hardest to do. DANG Winston bit off the end of the doggie toothbrush!!! I had to chase him down to get the brush end out of his mouth before he swallowed the damn thing!!! Does anybody have any advice or use something that works better to clean their teeth? I"m at my wits end... :cursing:

Ohhh I forgot to add that I was in the backyard in my PJ'S CHASING WINSTON DOWN!!! My neighbors were probably laughing their heads off... LOL

I use a rubber finger that has bristles at the tip of it. My vet said I could just use gauze to clean their teeth as well.
See if either of those make a difference? I got the finger at Petsmart.

And what's our famous sayin? Didn't happen without video and/or photo's. So, where are they?

Winnie will let me touch his bottom "tusks" only. He's very sensitive about his teeth. It may stem from one too many "Your dog needs braces!" jokes from my brother... ;)

Well I guess I didn't want to post a pic of me in my PJ's, but what the heck the whole neighborhood saw me... LOL
I guess I need to go buy the finger, hopefully Winston won't chew that off...

Holy Cow... Winnie has adorable nuffies... :D

We started with a bare finger on Harlea and have progressed to the rubber finger. She loves the toothpasth we got her.

Yah Im a bad bully mama I havent tried to brush his teeth yet. I just give him bones and occasional greenies. I have the finger brush with peanut butter toothpaste. Going to try it and see if he trys to amputate my finger wish me luck....

I give my two dentastics i gave up on brushing when i had to chase Shy all over the house ;-))

Well tried and failed  Fergus let me keep my finger.... I couldnt even get close to him he kept running from me. I will just have to do what we do for our lab greenies, bones and carrots. Our lab is 6 yrs old and his vet says he has great teeth so hopefully it will be the same for Fergus.

Pati Robins I will have to check them out, Thanks!
Ashleym I'm afraid Winston will not go for the finger brush either... LOL

I just try to keep the brush moving, lil mister loves his toothpaste so he wants to chew the brush! I correct with an ahk! when he bites down and just keep it moving and dont give him much oportunity to get ahold of it. and remember, keep calm, and take charge... be the grown up!!

I just give them marrow bones once a week... 9 yrs and running, the pups have great, clean teeth
