Ohhh, I LOVE this thread!!!
I quoted a few small parts of several replies, but it didn't work.
Sooo many unique, adora-bull stories behind the names.
Our first puppy was MEATY (he's 12 and 1/2 now, which freaks me out!)
Hubbs and I were going through lots of names, and he thought ARCHIMEDES
(ancient Greek known for mathematics) would be cool, and I liked it, too.
So his ACTUAL name is Archimedes, shortened to Meaty. I just love that
he has a unique, formal name, but since bulldogs are sooo beefy and meaty,
it's pawfect!
(P.S. I've heard of bulldogs name PotRoast (LOL!) , Beefy, and other food-related
names that crack us up!
SOPHIE
With our second puppy, we had her a while and wanted her to have a name
that really fit her personality. We considered Petunia, Molly, Bubbles, and others,
but something about her sweet face said Sophie.
For a while, I reallly wanted "Bubbles", but hubbs didn't like it. She was so much
more frisky / assertive than Meaty, so Rapscallion was another of her
middle names. Sophie Bubbles Rapscallion Lastname
We've had a few fosters/ adoptees.
As we all know, it's best to leave them with
the name they've always had, but we had one that just had the WORST name,
we definitely changed it. He was very elderly bulldog (awww, I still miss him!),
so I don't think he really MINDED that we called him something different.
One foster name we LOVED that fit this girl sooooo perfectly was DAPHNE.
She lived with us for 10 months, and we realllly wanted to adopt her, but
Sophie attacked her a lot. Thankfully, Daphne went to a wonder-bull family!
