Herschel and the Kittens

I had a litter of 6 foster kittens that I took care of earlier this spring. They loved Herschel. They also loved to play with herschel's kibble. They would surround his bowl and pull pieces out and bat them around the kitchen. Herschel would moan and look pitiful.

One night Herschel was in the kitchen getting annoyed and he walked back out to the living room, pulled his baby blanket off the couch and pulled it all the way into the kitchen. I was trying to figure out what the heck he was doing. I got up and when I walked in I could see that he had covered his dish and was pushing the blanket into a pile over it.

He couldn't eat but darn it, those pesky kittens couldn't bother it either lol!

He loved the kittens. When they were tiny and mewed for mama, he would run to their basket and worry until mama got there. He is a big softy.
