If you have to ask the question, then I would say go for it. I would give up everything for my babies.
I could never do something that would prevent me from having dogs. Some of our greatest happiness comes from having our dogs, fostering dogs. I can't even imagine not having them around!
You never seen a Uhaul behind a Hurst, think about it
I am retired so the job thing isn't really an issue, but I would NEVER volunteer to live someplace where I couldn't have my dogs with me. My husband and I have gone so far as to get long term care insurance so if one of us needs expensive care, the other one won't end up having to liquidate everything to pay for it! Our dogs are important family members!
If anyone were ever to get caught in a natural disaster and was facing having to leave their pets behind...a good resource to reach out to are rescues (in an unaffected area). They can spread the word quickly to their foster families and in some cases can help out temporarily.
