Our 2 yr old girl has been leaking urine. No infections, etc. Just had her to the specialist yesterday for ultrasound, and she has an eptopic ureter. They are recommending surgery. Has anyone done this? Just wondering what the success rates are. I hate to put her thru surgery. She feels fine, just has to wear a diaper all the time.

We’ve done only one about ten yrs ago. When Emma came in she was dripping urine and had a nasty UTI. We treated the UTI but she continued to leak. Further investigation revealed the underlying cause. Successful surgery and she was good as new.
Be advised that surgery will not guarantee no more leaking. Your Vet should confirm this. For us it was a risk we were willing to take.
