Just took my brand new Bully to the Opthomologist and was prescribed TACROLIMUUS 0.02% for Dry Eye (KCS)

Now I read this is an immune suppressant so I am scared. Linked to Cancers. I think at her age her immune system isn't what is used to be.
She is going to be 7years old. Saved her from being a puppy maker.

Not sure if I should used this.

Anyone use it now,or has used it.

Comments appreciated.

Why did they not choose opt-immune? Also sustaine eye drops work well as long as you can give 3x a day. That will not help produce tears, just keep her eyes lubricated.

I have never used it, but agree with Lisa, I don't know why they didn't just give you sustaine eye drops.

This med is $60 for a small bottle and it supposed to stimulate tear production.
1st visit cost me over $200 and I have take her back next month. All out of pocket.
Plus she needs to be spayed.

I want the best for her but hope I am doing the right thing.

Hoping someone who has used it will comes on board.

Thanks for your replies.

I do not know anything about this and the Lisa would be my go to for dry eye.... I'd be nervous too, call ask talk to the vet and maybe they can give you more info
