Does This Pup Look Normal?

This 10 week old pup appears to have a short body to me. She also has a very short tail. is this a sign of Hemivertebrae? The other pups in the litter appears to be nornal except for this one.

She looks beautiful to me. She’s just a pup. Wait they change so much. I love brindles. Short tail doesn’t mean Hemivertebrae. My brindle has no tail. Just like a bump lol. She use to get tail pocket infections. Needed cleaning on regular basis. But yours has a longer tail than mine.

Is it your litter? If so, I would ask your vet. I think she looks a bit short in length BUT I have to stress I have no experience with puppies at all.

Basically you can’t rely 100% as pups.

But look at Duke's body length in the puppy photo, it's more long than the pup in question.

She is from a breeder. Both parents have excellent pedigree. The sire is a grand champion. Here is another picture of her

No...that bulldog puppy is missing its middle section. Her rear legs are attached directly to her chest. We've seen a few length-challenged specimens before and have not noted any particular health concerns as a result of their "stubbiness". I doubt that this puppy will stretch out and conform correctly, to any measurable degree. What you see now is likely what you will get in terms of overall body proportion.

A close friend has one, Zoe, that is built similarly to this pup. She was sold by the breeder at a discounted price. Zoe too, came from Champion lineage and is a delightful little bulldog. She weighs about 32 lbs and @7 YO, in perfect health...and always has been. For a pet, this puppy would probably be as good as any. For breeding purposes, I recommend against it.

If someone offered that puppy to me, I'd snatch it up quicklike. I think she's extra cute. I'm partial to small bulldogs anyway. They cost less to feed!
