My little guy absolutely hates baths.
Any tips on how to get him to calm down while in the tub? He is due for one this weekend. I give them every other week and he bucks like a bronco every time!

yeah lola just likes to drink the water :) i dunno! give him some rubber toys to chew on!

I had to give Brutus treats to get him comfy in the beginning and then after a couple times he forgot about the treats and it was all about the water! See Brutus loves putting his face in water, and then he just starts drinking the water and could careless he is in the bath

I hear ya! You should have heard Cooper and Gracie squealing like pigs on their first bath. Now Gracie loves water and Cooper use to hate baths but he has gotten use to them. Just keep giving him baths the more you do the more he will get use to it and won't be throwing those fits in the tub! Cooper is 7 months and he just started not having a fit about 2 months ago!

This was their first bath at around 10 weeks old....The last pic the look on Gracie's face explains everything! LOL I love that pic!

I actually sing to mine also...

Ive sang that to them before...lol...Twice...

A good way to get them to at least behave is to take a dollop of peanut butter and put it on the upper part of the tub. They get so busy licking it off they forget where they are and it might make the bath a better experience for him. We on the other hand have a lover of the tub. She loves to drink water and god forbid you leave the bathroom door open, she loves to jump in and sit in there. :lmao:

Lola doesn't love her bath, but she tolerates it. She paces the entire time she's in there!

That Peanut Butter suggestion is a GREAT idea. I am going to try that !

Some dogs feel better if you put a towel over them while you are washing them. They feel like they are hiding...then just pull back the towel to the parts you have to work with. Only bad part is you have a giant drippy towel to ring out later.

I wash Mr. D in the shower - we have a detachable nozzle and it has a door, so I go in there with him and practically get a shower myself. He's too big to mess with in the tub. It can get annoying because he doesn't like it and tries to edge to the edges of it where I can't reach him as well. Because the shampoos we use have to stay on 5-10 mins, I hang out with him in there and sing to him too.

I try to do it when he's mellow and not hyper - maybe see when your baby is sleepy and try it then?
