I couldn't make this sh*t up if I tried!
I went there in June of last year, just stay in the touristy area's it is very safe and of course a tourist trap, but I never felt un-safe and was around 100's of other Americans. It is a beautiful place and you are going to love it!! I'm Jealous!! Just wait til you see the beach, we have beautiful beaches here in Fl. but the water there is so clear and blue you can see miles down if you get the chance to go on a boat.
