Hi All
I recently moved out of a major city into the country and for the past month, my Bulldog BEAR started barking when he looks out the window (nothing there)like he's scared and he growls at night, especially around me. Not sure if it's because of the new surroundings or if he's scared of something or if he's trying to be aggressive towards me for some reason.
Thanks much

Is it day or night this happens? shadows can unnerve dogs. Jeffo growls at anything unusual in the house. Try taking him outside when he barks at the window, just to reassure him that there is nothing/nobody there, remember dogs have acute hearing and they don't bark for no reason in my opinion. So make sure you are safe if you do go outside.

I’ve moved from the city to an acreage 4 yrs ago. But my dogs never had access to a sofa at any window. The sofa they slept on is opposite side of the bay window. But Sadie my GS, will go at night to the back patio doors, move the curtain with a head swipe, sit or lay looking outside. Once in a while she’ll growl but an acreage you do get coyotes and some farmers cat. Do remember one thing, a dog’s night vision is very powerful. They see things a human won’t. Maybe put blinds or curtains in the room? I doubt he growls cause you’re around, more like it’s all new to him.
