Anyone else have this? Dave is 9 months old. Incredibly hyper and goes on walks twice a day.

He used to be on raw but I have switched him to fresh partially cooked now which he seems to prefer but he never seems to lick his bowl clean at breakfast or dinner.

On that same now I don’t know where he gets his energy from….

How much do you feed at each meal? Not all dogs are voracious eaters… I’ve had two that at times just would eat a little bit and walk away. And three that would look for more and eat the bowl if they could

Has 400g breakfast and 400g for dinner. It’s what is recommended for his age and weight and food type. Just didn’t know if there may be something wrong or whether he just got full up and satisfied.

If I converted correctly, you might be feeding too much. The bag/company will always have a higher amount so you have to buy more. Each meal should only be 1 cup of food. @helsonwheels .. please correct me if wrong

1 cup of food can’t be correct as a cup of dry food is a lot more than a cup of raw for example due to moisture content. Recommended for a puppy when eating fresh meat is approx 5-10% of their current weigh or 2-3% of their ideal adult weight. As Dave is now 23kg in weight then he should actually be eating more. The amount is correct.

Ok.. then I’m wrong. Sorry

I fed my 62lb bulldog 2/3 of a cup twice a day.

One cup of raw ground beef is 225grams or 7.9 ounces

According to your dogs weight, a puppy and if it’s raw:
comes out to 1030grams per day which is approx 2.25lbs per day

Puppies are very energetic. My previous EB Duke was on Duracell batteries 24/7. He did eat less and would also leave some food as a pup. When he hit a yr old, still full of energy but ate everything n anything.

Partially cook…..What do you feed him? How is it cooked?

A pound of dog food is 4cups, way too much for an adult dog. Like you said 1/2 or less to maintain a good weight. Even for puppies 4 cups is too much. Back in the kibble days, I never followed the suggested cups for my dogs. They would look like tub of lards. šŸ™ƒ

Here is the link… it’s fresh food just like raw but gently cooked

Went to check it out. Dave ā€œmightā€ be full cause there’s rooted veggies in his meals. Rooted veggies is higher in carbs n of course sugar. Before your switching, did he finish all his raw? I have never met a dog not finish a raw meal. I’m just curious why you switched.

Yeah I switched because he didn’t like the raw and ate hardly any of it… very strange indeed. He seems to prefer this one though.

If he seems otherwise healthy, then maybe he is just full and choosing not to finish his meals. None of my dogs have ever left food behind and would probably overeat if I let them.
