Bloody? I think if there is a blood in an anal gland fluid (whatever you call this stinky substance lol) that is a sign of infection

No just the smell is bloody almost copper like mixed with fish. No actual blood there. Same smell since he was a pup (he's 4 now) and the vet said it's the normal smell of it

Oh thank God ;-) thought there was blood -yes im Polish but being blonde doesnt help when i try to understand what i read

Lol no worries. When I posted I thought that it may have been confusing.

As a side note our bully's anal secretion smells the same so maybe I'm just describing it wrong but my husband and I both agreed it smells like blood mixed with fish

It is just like a gone off (rotten) fish! , worst thing that ever happened to us was on a 5 hour jurney-one drop stinked whole car .....and the worst thing -it was winter and we had hot aircon on
