OMG that is horrible!!! And I agree if the dogs got in that easy, so could a child... bluesteelapd That was sweet of you to offer to help in the search... I'm so sorry

Oh that's just awful and so sad. Almost 2 years ago when my husband and I were looking to buy a house we made our "wish" list. I had fenced in back yard, pool--- WITH A BABY GATE AROUND IT. We looked at many homes and finally found one that had all our wishes. I have a baby gate completely surrounding our outdoor pool out back and we have No children. LOL. (My kids are adults) at first I think our realtor thought I was nuts since we did not have small children. She soon learned I meant it when I wouldn't even look at a house unless it was gated. NO way was I going to let Vegas fall in on accident.

KMARINO I commend you for insisting on the baby gate/fence! If we had a pool (and believe me, my partner reminds me all the time that she wants one) I will have a gate around it, even though we already have fenced in yard. (kinda, 1 side still has to be fixed).

I've just thought about Jeepers, Suki and Kim all day...my heart still breaks for them.

such a sad story.... hope the owners find some can find some comfort, I would be a complete mess

OMG, I would be devastated if that happened. if it was my pool OR my dogs.. So sad. Prayers for the doggie parents. I lived in N.J. forty years ago, in a small town(at the time) an it was a law that if you had a pool(other than a kiddie pool) it had to be fenced in. Perhaps each town had their own laws? I think that is a GOOD law-though whenever they make laws they usually go too far............but that one made sense.

That is how it is in our town and the fence has to be clearly marked with a sign and no trespassing signs. Since I read this I am constantly checking to make sure the gates are closed and properly latched there is a three year old that lives next door that runs over here if the gate is open so we HAVE to keep them closed and latched. It would kill me if something like that happened to my fur baby or a child!!!
