New bully today!

It's her breathing I'm concerned about. She has had an upper respiratory infection and has another week of antibiotics so we'll see how she is after that. She has toys, but I don't think she has ever played. She appears to be housebroken and only had one accident last evening. She knows "sit" and sometimes knows her name (our bullmastiffs were the same--a bully trait perhaps?). She loves following us around the house, getting her butt scratched, and has found quite a few good napping zones! I found a bulldog vet in Grand Rapids if our regular local vet thinks she needs a specialist. We are feeding her Life's Abundance, which is what we fed our bullmastiffs. She is such a cute little chunk! I love the "white noise" snoring as she sleeps right by my chair!

Awwwwww I'm so glad Mabel is now at home with her Mama! She's just a pretty thing. She looks like she's making herself right at home Chris. Hopefully your vet will be able to help her more with her breathing. I'm so looking forward to seeing her updates. :luv:

:dancing: Hi Chris! I've been off all day but so glad I found this! She is sooo wonderful! You will most certainly find out all kinds of things about her as she settles in. Like Davidh said..it could be an elongated palette nd that's a common and fixable trait. I know others here (@Brucep &@Larip) have adopted an older Bully and she didn't know how to play either but she learned! Amazing what love will do. And as she realizes that she is with people who really, really love her, she will become a different girl. Thanks for the update...and congrats all around! :D

aww what a sweet face, thank you for rescuing her and :welcome: to EBN. Her colors look similar to our pup Bacon, hope you enjoy the site and if you have any questions please ask.

I had a sweet girl named Mable once too. *sniff*

Congrats on your sweet addition.

:icecream: I'm sending you big hugs...and sharing my ice cream cone with you!
It helps me to know Mable is playing with all our bullies and those 'lil angels
from Sandyhook. GOD will have HIS day with evil and that will be the end of that.

Congratulations, she's a snuggle bunny for sure! Thank you for rescuing her and giving her
a wonderful home, may you be blessed for it. It took Brutus about 3 months before he would
pick up and play w/his toys or chew his Nylabones but he did eventually do this. And once he
fully trusted me and knew it was okay to rumble & play...we had some real wrestling matches.

Seeing his beautiful, loving, playful, protector of Momma come shining thru was worth EVERYTHING
that has happened...I would do it all over again if I could. Brutus loved and was loved, every minute
of every day for the short time I had him. RIP sweet Brutus! I know Mable will settle in ALL THE WAY!

Yeah Mabel is home!!! Congrats!!

Welcome....these people (crazy as they may be) are wonderful and have a wealth of knowledge. Be sure to read up on all the information available. I'm sure any questions you have that aren't answered somewhere in these posts will be answered by a knowledgable person. Most of all, have fun!!! That's what Bullies are all about.

Mabel has finally started to play, though not with her toys. She loves to run in the snow, though only for short spurts. She is learning her name and has some selective hearing! We feel like she's been ours forever. :heartsign:

congrats on adopting Mabel through DBR!!! She is a very special lady and deserves to have a home where she is loved and not kept in a kennel all day!
