Hi! My name is Margie-Girl, and I am a princess (or so Iāve been told!).
I am a āmiddle-ageā Bulldogā¦Iām 7! But I still have the energy and exuberance for life that would put most puppies to shame. I love to go for walks, and I love to play, either inside or outside ⦠but only if there is a fence, because I have been known to let my curiosity and urge to explore get the best of me! And I am smart ⦠some of my fellow bulldogs donāt seem to care what is going on around them, but not me! I always want to be included, and I always know the score. Oh, and Iām also a bit stubborn, but let the first bulldog who is not cast the first stone.
I am in very good health, except for a touch of arthritis in the knee of my right back let. In the past I took some medications but I do not have to do that now (yeah!!!). I am up to date with my shots, but I am soon due for my rabies shot (rats!). I have a little bid of food allergies, but nothing right now as I am eating a good quality brand of dog-food, which keeps this issue from occurring.
I am very good about letting the humans know when it is time for them to do their duty and escort me outside, so I can do MY duty. I am excellent regarding my potty training ⦠I have NOT had an accident inside in many a year, and that includes the time that I have been here in my foster house. I am good about not getting on the āpeople furnitureā when my humans are around, but when I am left alone I often cannot resist the sirenās call of the recliner for nap-time.
I have also been told that I am well trained. I walk pretty well on a leash, but because I am excited and happy to be outside āfor a walkā I often will require frequent reminders to āheelā. Before I even get to know you very well I will be happy to obey when you tell me āsitā, āstayā, etc. And I LOVE having a kiddie-sized wading pool in the summer. Now thatās FUN!
Now for my one big āprincessā requirement: I prefer to be the only dog in the house. Thatās not to say that I do not tolerate ANY dogs ⦠I can and have been around other dogs with no problems. BUT!!! There are just some dogs that which I do NOT like the look, and/or do NOT like their bark. And when that occurs, look out! I am going to want to battle that dog, and I will put all of my bulldog strength into going after that dog even if it means dragging the human on the other end of the leash all over the place! This is the reason I was given up for adoption by my first family, with whom I lived for since I was a pup. But there had three other dogs (two bullies and one small non-bullie), and one day this past summer I had finally had enough of that small yappy non-bullie dog and let him know who is boss. But, because I donāt know my own strength the other dog got hurt.
So my perfect forever home is one with no other dogs in the house, please. But humans??? LOVE āEM!!! And I love them in all: big or small, old or young, male or female, and even familiar or new. So my perfect forever home will also be one where my people will have time to play with me. I love chasing my ball and playing fetch with my bone. I have been well-cared for and well-loved by my original family and they are heart-broken having to had to give me up but were able to do so because they knew that a great home without other dogs was awaiting meā¦I hope that you are that family!
Well, thatās enough for now. Do you know how hard it is to write with paws and no thumbs? Hard. Besides, the sun is shining through the window, and that means that there is a long nap in my immediate future.
Hope to meet you soon!!!
MARGIE-GIRL.
