Everyone,

Has anyone experienced this with their bullys? I noticed my 13 week puppy limping about 10 -12 days ago so i took him to the vet and had x-rays done. According to them, it's a congenital luxation of the radial head. I want to say that it's not congenital because he wasn't born with it. I called a specialist and see what they say.

Any of you have experience with this?

Luxating patellas? I beleive are congenital and usually require surgery to fix. Did he say what stage it was?

Its not the patella, is actually the radius bone between the carpus en the elbow joint. I have not had any experience with this. From what I understand surgery is normally required. Let us now what the specialist says.

Wish you and Nihya all the best.

It is a congenital condition and the breeder should be contacted so they will not keep breeding this.

Abby had congenital luxating elbows (the tissue connecting the arms to the body never formed). There is surgery for it and it's easily corrected. I googled Luxating Radial Head and found this article that explains the surgery (with pictures!)

The word congenital means that it was something she was born with but it may not have been a problem until her body started to use those muscles more frequently.
