Went for a shot at the vet today and asked about Lucy's tear stains. He told me she has entropion in that eye and needs tacking sutures until she's old enough to get surgery. :( anyone on here had them tacked before? I hate to put it off and damage her eye but don't want to do something unnecessary

I tagged a couple of members that had this done for their bully

Did you get the full on surgery or the tacking sutures?

Billy had eyelashes plucked we didn't need surgery. I know someone had their bullies eyes done but can't for the life of me think who.

Gosh I don't know. We are holding off on entropion surgery b/c lupe's condition is "mild" and she isn't pawing at her eyes, no goop etc. tear stains we corrected with food changes. I just hate putting her through something unless its really warranted. if you are near a ompthamologist it might be worth a second opinion from a specialist, but I really don't know.

I would try the plucking first to see how that goes.

I asked our vet about just plucking them and he doesn't think it will work.

Went and dropped off Lucy for tacking. Hopefully as she grows it will go away but my vet is pretty sure she will have to have surgery later on. :(

Got Lucy back at 4 today. You would never even know they put her under. If anything she is more energetic than normal. Her stitches are barely visible but you can definitely tell her eyelid rests away from her eye now. She doesn't seem to be in any pain at all so that's good. I feel bad for her though. She hasn't eaten since last night and can't until tomorrow. I'll try to get a pic up if i can ever get her to be still. The tacking is temporary and my vet says we may have to do it a few times before she's old enough to have permanent surgery. I keep hoping she grows out of it.

Hey Scott,

My little Sasha looks the same way. I am sad. She has a few appointment with specialists. My breeder is being difficult, my vet and a few other have stated it is a congenital or hereditary defect. Under California Law, she needs to help with costs, but won't.
