If I use freeze dried raw food, do I need to clean my dog's face and the bowl the same as I would if it were fresh raw food?

When we were feeding RAW patties we always cleaned of the counter top with Clorox spray. We never cleaned off a face. That we know of, we never had an issue that could be associated with "not" cleaning a dog's face after eating. Although it certainly wouldn't hurt to give it a quick wipe down with Baby Wipes or Tucks medicated pads. I would never use Clorox or other harsh chemical for this sort of thing.

So... just something to think of:

The bacteria load of Dog Food kibbles is not much different than the bacteria load of raw Dog Food. This is why the kibble manufacturing process cannot pass FDA approval for human consumption even though they cook the thing.

Freeze dried raw food is not much different than fresh raw food in bacteria load. The difference between the two is how long they can keep before going rancid.

So, whether your dog eats kibble, freeze dried raw, or raw, the food handling process during feeding is pretty similar, except that when feeding kibble you can let the kibble stay out all day long without needing to worry about it much.

I feed fresh raw to my dogs. I wipe their faces with baby wipes after eating because they can get bloody gunk on their faces. I clean their bowl same way I clean our people plates - throw them all in the dishwasher.

I read a lot online that people don't have to clean up with freeze dried raw like they do with fresh raw.

Regardless of what I fed, Ive always cleaned/wiped their faces after meals…. I currently feed raw and wash everything in hot soapy water
