Dog friendly beaches along the East Coast?

Hello fellow EBN'ers! It's time for a family Vaca for the Salyer crew! Does anyone have recommendations for dog friendly beaches on the East Coast? We are going to take about 4 days or so for a mini vaca this month, then a week long vacation next month to Destin, Fl. We would like to stay in the Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia area if possible.

Outerbanks in North Carolina. I love it there.

I know this doesn't help you but I was just in Monterey Ca seeing my son. It was the most dog friendly place I've ever seen. There were as many people with dogs as there were without. All the beaches, shops and restaurants we were at allowed dogs. It was awesome. My favorite place in Georgia is Jekyll island. Most beaches allow dogs I think. Its a beautiful and quiet place. Not a lot of people on the beaches. It's almost like you have a private beach to be on. It's an a mixing place. Good luck on your vacation plans.
