lol....We have done this for all of our dogs! So I am right there with you...Cooper likes Housewives of Orange County! 
I do that for both my dogs and my husband gets mad. He tells me to just turn the radio on. Hehe!!

I sometimes leave a radio on for them. Makes me feel better, they could probably care less.

Banks rarely snores.... Cheli all 18 lbs of him is very loud, but it is music to my ears it really does not bother me. Nitschke was REALLY loud and it was my lullaby

HRH is afraid of so much related to loud noises that leaving something on could do more harm than good.
Loud things have been known to scare the *pee* outta her.
Something loud and obnoxious or created by the boogey man might be played. So no if we leave her at home we don't leave anything on.

We used to leave TV on until hubby got a new TV years ago and it said how many estimated hours of life it has. Lol our house is never quiet cuz I like the TV on when we sleep too. Lol
