number #2 was about right, the vets say 6 to 7 months are considered adults. and Fromm has a low enough protein to not irritate the growth plates that the breeder is talking about! large breed dogs often needed adult food in the past for this. FOOD HAS COME a long way. and there is no filler. and only the best pre and pro bitoitcs(guaranteed in writing) so smaller amounts are fed and it is cheaper in the long run even though the bag costs more to buy. in the $50.00 rang for a 30 to 33 pound bag. start with the 4 star, till you have tried them all, then switch to the GOLD because it has most all of the proteins in the food -so that dogs are getting many types each feeding - to keep them from building up an intolerance to any protein. and you may switch back and forth between any meats in the same brand just fine. switch them slowly to a new food. 75% old to 25% new then 50 /50 then 75 new to old. over the course of a 5 to 6 day period. to prevent loose stools. ----<www.frommfamily.com>
