Tail Pocket Irritation Fix?

Our 6-year old male has a pretty deep tail pocket. We wipe it out with squish face wipes every time he goes to the bathroom to keep it clean. Recently, this seems to "bother" him so we started putting a little squish face paste in the pocket to help with the irritation but wondering if there is anything else we can do?

Has the vet checked to see if his tail pocket is infected or his tail is impacted?

He just had a dose of antibiotics for something else a month ago, so I doubt it’s an infection. I can ask them to check next time we go in though. Any other suggestions? I’m wondering if we’re wiping it out too much and he’s a little raw?

I just took my 15 month old puppy who I couldn’t figure out why she was spinning. It turned out to be her tail pocket… and a little bit of her allergies. She has a very deep tail pocket and it gets moist and itchy. My vet gave me some of the same powder. Seems to have worked quite well so far.
