Hey guys, my girl is 2 years 8 months old.
We moved to a new house. She peed once when we moved in in the living room on the carpet. But i showed her with penalty that is wrong. She stopped.
When im at work, she can hold 7-8 hours no issues.
We used to sleep together but when i have a guest, she sleeps in the living and she does pee on the carpet.
Do you think she’s showing the statement ? Also how can i make her stop? Its getting too much!

Also what is the best way to get rid of smell on the carpet?

White vinegar and baking soda will absorb the odor.

Yes, she is peeing because she is most likely waking up during the night instead of sleeping straight through.. you might need to crate her or get up to take her out when she sleeps in living room

This post is a few months old so you might have the problem sorted sorry. Firstly boiling hot water with white vinegar and washing up liquid mixed well and foamy poured on the area with kitchen towel loosely on top left for 15 minutes will stop stains smell and your dog from using that spot again.
Secondly can I ask what penalty you showed her? That might translate as to why she pees in the living room when you have a guest. It could also be because she doesn’t sleep with you at those times, possibly anxious, even attention seeking.
Female dogs sometimes mark their territory by peeing or by scratching their feet on the floor( like a cat covering its poo) it leaves their pheromones behind.
It could be that’s what she’s telling you and your guest , your friend is taking or interrupting her nightly safe sleeping space.
Dogs as you know are much like children , they’re also very routine based so if something changes it can unsettle them and they sometimes react in unusual ways, behave in ways they never normally would.
