Does your dog react against others, if they did and youāve gotten them past it , how?
Itās heartbreaking for me to see Freya desperately wanting to play with other dogs, but right now I canāt let her.
She wasnāt socialised as a young puppy and just doesnāt understand other dogs. She sees dogs and immediately dives in she has no understanding of boundaries or if they tell her woah back off a bit, she just continues to throw herself right in, then when they warn a little more serious she jumps from I wanna play straight to anxious Iāve gotta attack before they get me!
Itās really hard because even when I tell other dog owners in advance sheās reactive 9/10 I get oh itās fine, he can look after himself then of course when Freyaās trying to get to or is starting to fixate on their dog unless Iām extremely quick ( and lucky sometimes) she lunges and now Freya being the stigma breed is at fault. We are working on it and our trainer is amazing but it is a work in progress and will take time.
Iām asking if any of your dogs have the same issue because it would be nice to know im not alone in this and any advice on stopping it is welcome.
