Hi everyone ,
First time owner of my EBD who we named Maggie ! she is now 6 months old we have had her since 8 weeks old ! Absolute bundle of joy, crazy personality and full of energy ! We couldn’t be happier , I’ve been feeding her on RC puppy until I gathered info from this forum which I have just purchased orijen puppy so currently going through the transition so hope this will go ok lol
I do have 1 question Maggie is very aggressive Somtimes and bites a lot I understand she is still a pup and may still be going through the teething stage but I’m also starting to think is it a attention thing as well is this something that’s common that will stop or do I need to have a bit more authority ? And yes she is very spoilt

Many thanks
James

By the time they are 6 months of age-they should KNOW that biting humans is a no-no. When mine were small, they had plenty of safe toys, and when they got in a biting mood, I would put a tough toy in their mouths and say "no bite!" and "here bite this" It takes repetition but her being older, might take a little longer. She should have her second teeth and should not bite anyone! Go on ETSY and get some split moose or elk antlers. Dogs usually like them. She is quite cute, but NO BITE!

Thanks for your reply I will shop for some antlers
WELCOME ‼️

Ive been using marrow bones for decades. Not the knuckle but like the picture. I give it to them raw n frozen. Have them cut at 3-4”. (grocery store) They’re a lifesaver for hands n furnitures. Also at 6 months you need to show who’s the boss or you will regret it down the road..

When my girl would bite me, I would shout "NO" and then put my back to her and would look up for 15-20 seconds. Sometimes I would even leave the room and shut the door a bit louder than usual. She needs to knows that biting is a show stopper. All the fun stops and ends when she bites. Do not give her eye contact either as they consider that a reward. Consistency is the key. If there are other members in the house they also need to do this. Remember that you are training the owners as well as the bully :)

Also want to say not to be too mean. They will remember EVERYTHING that happened when they were puppies. Be extra nurturing with her.

Great advice thanks guys !

Defiantly give the marrow bones ago

And yeah strangely she’s fine with me it’s my partner she seems to get a bit angry at , Also with the kids but that’s were it’s hard because when kids get excited and just be kids that’s were Maggie gets excited and seems to think biting hard on hands and feet is ok the part what’s hard is teaching kids to teach Maggie as well

Also, make sure you are all using the same training words and actions… this way she knows her place in the home.
