I think the sedative is a bit much. Jagger got neutered and they gave him a pain shot afterwards. I could not get him to move. His breathing was very loud and strained. I would be very cautious. I agree with the baby gate. I just got Ellie, and use the baby gate in my kitchen so there is nothing for her to jump on, but she can still see and hear everything.

Welcome to EBN, good for you to question using a sedative.

My bully sprained his leg, it is hard but they need to rest more, usually about 5-6
days. Crate her at night, maybe by your bed where you can talk to her and reach
down & pet her or cover her crate, she should settle down and leash or gate off
a small area or put her in the bathroom. Good luck and let us know...GOD bless!
