Dog appears to have a cut in eye

Hello, my 4 year old English bulldog has a bright red, looks like a tear along his eye. I am scared it’ll turn into cherry eye, but I am not sure. I am buying him eye drops today, but wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else? What can I do at home for him

You need to bring him to a vet before it gets infected. He must of scratched it on something like a branch or whatever.

Oh my… ouch, yes, that needs a vet visit

Needs to be taken to the vet and have a dye test done for scratches and potentially a prescription eye medicine. Eye issues can turn ugly really quickly.

Use a vet whose specialty is the eyes!

Thank you all for your comments! It did turn out to be quite a large laceration. He was given anti inflammatory and antibiotics, will have a tear test done in a week
