Has anyone ever seen something like this in their bullies? There's a small patch on Normans side with less hair. There is also a small patch on the other side. At first I thought it was just a discoloration of the fur but upon closer inspection it seems like less hair in that region.

Everything else seems healthy...

This appears to be seasonal alopecia… extremely common in the breed. My Bella would get this about twice a year when the seasons changed, and it is harmless. I have heard that you can give them melatonin to help w/the hair loss, but we did not use it for our girl.

Could totally be seasonal alopcia.... how old is Norman?

That gives me a little bit of relief! He's one year and 8 months!

My Charlie Giggles has seasonal alopecia as well. It doesn't seem to affect him in any way, no itching or discomfort at all. He has two patches on the same side but I've only recently adding coconut oil to his food and one of his bald spots is markedly better after only a week. I'm not sure if its related but I'm glad to see the improvement.

I have been putting Nu Stock on Monty's as his fur did not grow back completely last year and I have noticed what may be some more patches coming higher on his flank. It's hard to tell as he is shedding like mad at the moment and it seems to come off in tufts at that spot when he sheds. I gave him Melatonin all last year and it made no difference with him, other people swear by it so I guess it depends on the dog.

Our bully gets seasonal alopecia too. The vet suggested melatonin pills, but it didn't do much other than make him suspicious of everything we fed him (he hates pills). Funny thing though, when he finally got his hair back, it was a different color. He's brindle where those bald spots were, and they grew in brown.

yep my Rocky has that also.. my vet did a thyroid test just to make sure it wasn't that.. said they both and resemble same systems.. glad it was only the seasonal alopecia..

My pumba had that too. My vet checked him and it was because of mites. Nth serious. just has to put on those meds on his skin once every 3 weeks.
