Hi everyone. I have a 6 month old puppy and we are thinking of getting him neutered this month. However, english bulldogs are prone to issues with anesthesia . I worry that something could happen to him. How has everyone's experience been with anesthesia ? Have you gone to a vet that has specifically neutered bulldogs before? Love him to death and don't want anything to happen to him.
Thanks,
Jen

Just make sure you go to an experienced vet, possible also one that has the equipment to act IF something would to go wrong, which I'm sure it wont
Like mentioned before the anesthetic is important, ask what kind they use and read up on it. Don't let your baby eat or drink anything before the operation. I take away food at around 6pm and water at 9pm the night before to make sure they have time to get it out of their tummies. I've heard some vets say a few hours are enough but I strongly disagree. Ask your vet about that to make sure. I always book mine in for mornings so they don't have to wait a whole day without eating or drinking. I also stress A LOT, I drive my husband crazy and probably the vet too
Hugs to you
