Hi I was feeding my puppy royal canin for the first few months but noticed his paws were getting raw where he was biting/ picking them. So I decided to take him off them because I heard they were full of weat. He was on 379g a day but now he's on what my old bulldog was on but it's adult kibble the question is does it make a difference if I'm feeding him the same in grams as the puppy food was in grams? because he is pooing alot I don't want to over feed him

Not sure I'm the one that should be answering this. I have never and would not feed Kibble. Most allergies are caused by food, and Kibble especially in my opinion. I'm with Raw. Think about this, take a hand full of kibble, would you eat it as your main meal? :no:but you would eat chicken, beef, lamb, and many other meats. plus veg, fruit. There is a whole new menu out there. May be try it for your pup(y)

Definitely change his food. RC is full of grains and especially puppies, they need that boost of nutrients for their future health. Stay away from Royal Canine, Science Hill, Iams, all Purina brands. There’s a lot of great threads in here if you look under Diet and Nutrition. In UK you have Acana which was sold but the recipe hasn’t changed. It’s a higher quality kibble and much higher in protein which is what all puppies and adult dogs need for a healthy diet. A Raw Diet would be even better.

Cheers thanks for the reply his stools are OK but I was wondering if im feeding him to much? As you guys know they'll eat all day if you let them he's getting fed 2 times a day 380g but does go to the toilet for a number 2 alot in my opinion about 5 times a day maybe more.

Is that 380g x2 ? If it is I think that is way to much. Take a look at Middleton Dog Food. Like I said in a previous thread, I have no connection with this company, been using them for years with no problems.

No the 380g is spread over 2 meals, otherwise he would be huge lol.

I think the puppy kibble has a higher concentrate of vitamins minerals etc that a growing puppy needs and is a bit easier on their digestive system, it also takes into account calorie/ carbs etc ratio., but I’m no expert. It could help to compare ingredient s, ingredient ratios, amounts to feed , what and how much vitamins calcium minerals and such are in the puppy version of the brand you are currently using.
Adding some healthy human foods to his diet is good for him. Vegetables, fruits, egg, fish, fresh meat , plain yoghurt , whole grain rice etc . My dog has some kibble in her mix we play treasure hunt with it. I use Alpha ultra sensitive as she has a few allergies and sensitivities and it’s made a huge difference . Even her coat looks and feels healthier.

Thanks for the reply some good ideas there going forward with his food I don't want to over feed him . He's a big boy already for 7 months he's great. He's going to turn into a great part of thr family.

He’s a bullie you don’t have a say in it šŸ˜‚ they have a way of worming their way into our hearts!
Diets for bullies can be a minefield! They often have a lot of sensitivities and allergies along with being prone to weight gain. My girl has recently gained a kilo after being spayed and now her new health issues means limited activity and exercise . I’ve always been careful of her diet and health but now I’m having to reassess hers without leaving her hungry and without losing the various nutrients she needs.
You’ll soon balance things out, dogs are a completely different species to us so figuring their dietary needs is a whole new challenge! One other thing i would suggest is don’t just go by labels and advertisements , there are many loopholes that pet food companies can jump through, use your own common sense and instinct just as you do with your own food.
